Voluntary Recall: Coleman Converta Cot and Coleman Converta Camping Suspension Stretcher
The Coleman Company is recalling the Coleman Converta Cot and Coleman Converta Camping Suspension Stretcher (also referred to as a "Stretcher Cot") due to the risk of finger injuries when adjusting the reclining angle.
As a trusted outdoor camping gear and equipment manufacturer, safety is our first priority. Our product instructions warn against adjusting the chair while seated and provide a step-by-step guide for properly adjusting the reclining angle.
We have elected to conduct a voluntary recall in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and Health Canada to provide complimentary repair kits to any individual who owns the Converta Cot or Stretcher Cot.
If you own a Converta Cot or Stretcher Cot, please begin by filling out the information in the fields below. Once we confirm your product is included in the recall, we will send you a repair kit at no charge. The repair kit can be easily installed and will reduce the risk of fingers contacting or getting pinched by the back hinge. We have also prepared a short video to help guide installation.
We ask that you do not use the Converta or Stretcher cots until after the repair kit has been installed.

If you own a Coleman Converta Cot or a Coleman Converta Camping Suspension Stretcher (also referred to as a
"Stretcher Cot"), please follow these steps:
- Verify if your product is included in the recall by filling out the information in the fields below.
Please note that some cots purchased may not have a label with a date code. Please review the visual indicators below and contact our team with questions.
- If your product is included, you will be sent a free repair kit. You should stop using your Converta Cot or Stretcher Cot but retain it to apply the repair kit. We will ship the repair kit to you directly.
- After you receive your repair kit, please review the installation instructions included with it. We have prepared a short video to assist you with installation.

Step One: Product Verification
This recall involves Coleman Converta and Converta Camping Suspension Stretchers (also referred to as a "Stretcher Cot") manufactured until March 2025 (designated on the label as 0325). These products are either tan or white and have the Coleman logo in the top-right corner or on the footrest.

First, locate the sewn-in label on the bottom of the cot's fabric as shown in the example below.
Note: Is the product missing a label? You can determine whether you have a Coleman Converta Cot or a Stretcher Cot by checking if the backrest is adjustable. Both types of cots have backrests that can be positioned to lie flat, propped up at an upright angle, or locked into a seating position. If your cot does not have an adjustable backrest, it is not included in the recall.
You will need to find the model number and the manufacturing date as identified in the example below.
The Model Number is a 10-digit number listed in the middle of the tag as identified in the example below.
The manufacturing date is a string of numbers located at the bottom of the label as identified in the two exmples below.
Please input only the first four numbers of the date code, which correspond to the month and year of production. Numbers after the dash are not needed.
Step Two: Request a Repair Kit
If you believe you have a product impacted by this recall, please enter the applicable information below to receive your free repair kit. If your product is not included in the recall, it is safe to continue using it in accordance with the product instructions.
Your Coleman Converta Cot or Stretcher Cot is not included in the recall and does not require a repair kit. It is safe to continue using in accordance with the product instructions. What is included in the repair kit?
The repair kit will include a locking device that, once installed, prevents the back of the cot from lying against the product's legs when in a horizontal position.
How can I determine if the Coleman cot I own is a Converta or Converta Camping Suspension Stretcher?
First, check the color of the product. These cots are either tan or white and will have the Coleman logo located in the top-right corner or on the footrest.
Next, examine whether the backrest is adjustable. Both types of cots can be set to lie flat or can be propped up at an upright angle, and they can be locked into a seating position. If your cot does not have an adjustable backrest, it is not part of the recall.
Can I visit a retailer to receive a repair kit?
Repair kits are prepared and sent only through Coleman. To receive a kit, please submit your information through our website.
How long will it take to receive the repair kit?
We will work as quickly as possible to send you a repair kit. You will receive a confirmation email with tracking information on your free repair kit.
Can I continue using my cot until the repair kit arrives?
